Easter Eggs

Here is a fun project for those special people on your Easter list. Delicate looking and not to hard to make.

Supplies:
"Eggs" from "Legs" pantyhose (preferred)
or the smaller plastic eggs available in craft stores
1/8" and 1/16" wide quilling papers in desired colors
slotted quilling tool
corsage pin or toothpick
small sharp scissors
bent-nose tweezers
fine tip glue applicator bottle
clear drying tacky glue
thin ribbon in any color to match your quilling paper

Make the following different items and arrange them on the "face" of the egg in any desired pattern. Then just glue them to the egg. After the quilling paper is dried on egg, glue a piece of the thin ribbon around where the crack in the egg is. You could fill the egg if desired.

Flower Petals
Use 1/8" quilling paper and cut 1 1/2" lengths for each petal. Thread one end into slotted quilling tool and turn until length is completely coiled. Let fall off tool without gluing. Coil will unravel slightly. Glue outside end to coil to secure. Use applicator, pin or toothpick to spread glue sparingly. Using fingers or tweezers, pinch glued side of coil to a point for teardrop petals. Pinch opposite sides of coil for leaf. For arrowhead shapes, pinch one side of coil and push in center of the opposite rounded side.

Flower Centers
Roll a tight coil as for petal. Glue end to coil before removing from tool to prevent unraveling.

Open S-Coils
Roll one end of strip in one direction and other end in opposite direction. Glue the ends to coils to secure.

Bow
Cut a 3" length. Cross ends over to make a flat bow, securing with a drop of glue at the cross-over. Cut each end into a decorative V-Shape.

Stems
Coil paper and let fall off tool; coil will unravel to resemble stems.

Butterflies
Use large arrowhead petals for top wings; large teardrop petals for bottom wings. Body is a long, pinched "leaf". Head is a flattened flower center with coiled antennae glued on.
