For My Sister

Throughout the years, as I grew up,
she was always the "Big Sister". She
got to do things I didn't because
"Your to little". We fought over the
littlest things. Things that now we laugh at.
But then they weren't "little" to me.
And when she went to mother and told on me,
I just knew mother didn't love me because
she made me mind.
But now, as I look back, I am glad she
told on me. I learned that I couldn't get
away with things like I wanted. My sister,
not knowingly, made a better person of me.
When I got a little older, and she got her
driver's licence, she took me all over with her.
(She always says I caused her to get her
first ticket for keeping me out after curfew.)
But I remember having such a good time with her.
After we both grew up and got married, we
didn't see as much of each other as we really
could have. But our love for each other
never faltered.
Now we have lost both our parents. All we
have is each other (and my children, which
she adores). I feel sorry for those that
are "Only Children", as they never get to feel
the feelings of having a brother or sister
to share their life with.
Sister....I Love You. Your are my closest
friend and God willing, we will have many more
years to enjoy each other.
