"Somewhere Out There"

Somewhere Out There
Somewhere there is a truck
rolling down the highway.
Bringing the cars to dealers
so you can drive one away.
But it's not the cars that intrest me
nor really even the truck.
It's the driver behind the wheel
that is mine just by sheer luck.
We met on the web when he
joined our little ring.
We talked on line and enjoyed
what each night could bring.
He lives not to far away
and drives right thru my town.
So I ask him to meet me for coffee
the next time he was down.
So one dark evening I got a call
"Meet you for coffee?" he asked,
"I'm just four hours from there
and stopping won't be a task."
So I drove to the truck stop
and sat down to wait,
for this big truck to pull in
and keep this impromptu date.
All of a sudden here he comes
a big smile on his face,
"You looking for a date" he laughed?
and that then set the pace.
We laughed and talked for hours that night
till he had to move on.
But that night will remain in my memory
even though he was gone.
That was just the beginning
but not the end by any way.
He's gotten into my heart
and there he will stay.
So if you see a big truck
going not so "Swiftly" by,
give a honk and a wave
cause it just might be "My Guy"!!!
For Bud!
